I went from 90 mbps to about 240 mpbs but my download is still at under 13 mbps. Blue light (Docsis 3.1) for upload never turned on. This could just be my account not sure. I have wired connection as well as Wifi. Make sure your router has gigabit connection or you'll cap at 95 mpbs.
Bought this to replace an SB6183 that has worked flawlessly for two years. Was getting just under 300/12 mbps DL/UL speeds from Xfinity on their Pro plan. The new 8200 installed easily but required a call to Comcast to provide Model, S/N, and MAC address. Their reset signal got it working but DL speed was only 9.4 mbps. They told me my modem was faulty. On a hunch, i simply unplugged the power temporarily to force cold reboot. Upon which I got 665mbps DL and 17 mbps UL speeds. That’s all it required. The DL light is solid blue but the UL light never turns blue. Only sold green. I read somewhere that Comcast isn’t using DOCSIS 3.1 on Upload signals anywhere yet, so I’m not questioning the green light. After 4 days in operation, the 8200 has been solid. So far so good. 5 stars.
Received this unit through Xfinity advise, Paid with tax $180.00. I need a router/modem, not just a modem, no one will get back to me about returning the unit. I think if I do not hear by end of this week, I will take action against Arris and Surfboard.com -
Due to some mixed reviews about this product on multiple sites, I was a bit worried that it may fail after a few months of usage. Hence I have purchased a fan (AC Infinity MULTIFAN S2) from Amazon, and placed it next to the modem, and crossed my fingers. Hopefully, it would not fail on me (or lose connection in the midst of usage) within a couple of years.
